Anyone who has spent time in Laurel should be familiar with the Berman name. Brothers Melvin and Wolford Berman founded Berman Enterprises, a real estate and investment holding company, in 1952. Four years later, they chose Laurel as the site of their ambitious retail project, Laurel Shopping Center. Denny Berman has graciously shared an amazing archive of photos from his family's collection, many documenting the grand opening of Laurel Shopping Center and other Berman properties, including the Arbitron Building and Annapolis Federal Bank.
